Freekick Layoff

Players: 3+ | Difficulty: 1 |

Description:  Freekick set piece layoff play.

Instructions

All 3 players line up around the freekick.

1. Player C acts annoyed and walks away from the ball towards the center of the field.

   1. Player A fake-shoots and runs past the ball.

2. Player B acts as to shoot, but then passes the ball to Player A, who has turned to face Player B in front of the corner of the wall.

   1. Player C starts to run towards the goal as Player B passes to A.

3. Player A lays the ball off first time in space to the incoming Player C.

   1. Player A also uses their body to shield off the wall players as they make the pass.

4. Player C shoots.
   

Setup

• Freekick outside the 18yd box.

Coaching Points

• Make sure Player C doesn't attract any attention.

• Player A puts their body between the wall and the incoming Player C.

• Player B's pass is firm and on the "correct foot" of Player A.
