Double Shot

Players: 3+ | Difficulty: 1 |

Description: Fast pace shooting team vs team game.

Application: Improves accuracy for quick shots inside/near the 18 yard box while having a fun time.

Instructions

1. Two teams line up at cones outside the 18 yard box.

2. A player starts to check forward.

3. The coach plays a ball out to that player.

4. The player does a 1 or 2 touch shot at the goal, and the coach immediately plays the next ball out to them.

5. The player takes the shot.

6. If the player makes either of the shots, they go back in their teams line.

7. If the player MISSES BOTH shots, they are OUT and become a ball fetcher.

8. Next a player from the opposite team checks forward.

9. This cycle continues until one team has no players left.

Setup

• 2 Cones 5-10 Yards outside the 18 yard box (or as needed per skill level).

• Lots of balls for the coach by the goal post.

Coaching Points

• This game works better with one touch, but can work with two if wanting to develop a deceptive first touch in the 18 yard box.

• Players must shoot fast, add a time limit if needed.

• The coach must pass the second ball out to the player AS SOON as they take the first shot.
