Musical Square

Players: 3+ | Difficulty: 1 |

Description: Players battle to have possession of a ball by the end of the rounds.

Application: Effective dribbling & shielding in space.

Instructions

1. Coach will put balls into play at the start of each round.

2. The coach will put ONE - TWO less balls than players.

3. The players goal is to dribble and defend their own ball till the end of the timer.

4. The ONE - TWO players that didn't get a ball, must try to steal a ball from someone else before time runs out.

5. Once time runs out, the players without a ball will leave the square, and the next round will start.

6. The game is over once the last two players battle for a singular ball and one is in possession at the end of that round.
   

Setup

• A box : size dependent on player count.

• Multiple balls.

Rules

• Must have possession of a ball at the end of each round.

Coaching Points

• Coach can have a timer, a song, or their own count for the end of a round.

• The rounds should vary in length.

• Have players work on their tight ball control and shielding ability while moving.

• Awareness is key. Make sure players are raising their heads.
