Open, Faint, Finish

Description: Making a move to shoot after receiving a pass in front of goal.

Application: Quick misdirection to finishing facing a defender.

Instructions

1. The Red Player passes to the checking into space Blue Player.

2. The Blue Player passes to the Yellow Player as they create space away from the cone/pole.

3. The Yellow Player either:

   1. Has a direct touch past the cone/pole and shoots.

   2. Faint, Touch, Shoot.
      

Setup

• 3 Cones.

• Pole optional.

Rotation

• Red, Blue, Yellow.

Coaching Points

• Can make 1 or 2 touch.

• Emphasize quick decisions on top of the 18yd box.

• Players should make a quick dart away from the cone to receive the ball and create space.

• The touch before finishing should create space away from the pole.

• Players should call for the ball.

• This is a great time to gain confidence in a short, but effective move before finishing.
