Players: 1/2+ | Difficulty: 1-2 |

Description:  Dribbling pattern working on the weight of touch and turning ability.

Instructions

  1. Player A dribbles from the first Orange Cone to the last Orange Cone.

  2. After going around the cone, they dribble to the far Red Cone.

  3. Player A goes the Red Cone, and dribbles to the other Red Cone.

  4. After going around the cone, they dribble to the far Purple Cone.

  5. A goes around the Purple Cone, and then around the second Purple Cone.

  6. Player A dribbles out of the line past the Black Cone, finishing the route.

For 2 Players:

  • Player B does not have a ball.

  • Once Player A rounds the far side Orange Cone, Player B will start chasing down A through the route.

  • If B beats A past the Black Cone, they win.

Rules

  • Think of the cones as gates. The player must go around the Orange gate, then the Red, then the Purple.

Setup

  • 3 Cone Gates

    • First gate: 20yds

    • Second gate: 12yds

    • Third gate: 6yds

  • Exit cone.

  • Starting line cone (2 starting lines if playing with a chaser).

Coaching Points

  • Turns are tight around the cones.

  • Players keep the ball close to their body.

  • Weight of touches.

For Youth Coaching:

  • Without a chaser for slower pace.
