Mental Agility

Players: 2+ | Difficulty: 1 |


Description:  Grab the cone or ball!


Application: Coordination and mental warmup.



Instructions





  1. Player A and B throw the ball back and forth while standing up.

  2. If the coach yells "Orange!" then the two players stop everything their doing and try to be the first to grab the orange cone.

  3. If the coach yells "Red", the player who currently has the ball will turn and run to their Red Cone, while the other tries to tag them before they get there.

Rules

  • The callouts can be changed based on needs/availability.

  • Players can't hold the ball for longer than a second.



Setup

  • 3 Cones and 1 Ball per group of 2 people.




Coaching Points




Can make changes such as:

  • Play from knees.

  • Headers only, thighs only, etc.

  • Continuous jumping.

For Youth Coaching:

  • Make an animal sound every time you catch the ball.
