Pass, Check, Open Up

Description: Quick "1-2" passing drill.
Application: Checking into space to play a pass, then opening up to receive a return pass.

Instructions

Player B passes the ball to Player A on the starting line.
Player A plays a return pass to Player B, then checks/runs to the middle gate.
Player B passes/bounces the ball to Player A, A plays a return pass. They play one more back and forth pass with the opposite foot. (One... Two...)
Player A backtracks to their initial gate and receives the long final pass from Player B.
Player A takes a touch around the cone into the second zone. Player B moves over to the second zone.
The cycle is repeated, but starting with Player A passing the longer ball to Player B (then Player B plays the ball back & checks into the middle gate etc.)
Setup

9 Cones: 6 Gates of cones 5-8yards apart.
1 Ball per group.
Rules

Players must call for the ball.
May only take X amount of touches.
Rotation

Group switches out.
Coaching Points

Can make 1 or 2 touch.
Checking shoulder after passing and as they are about to receive a pass. (Or as age or skill level allows)
Focusing on their pass quality.
